9 Patch Quilt Block
Also known as Nine Patch, Nine-Patch.
The 9 Patch is a traditional block made from nine equal squares, usually arranged in alternating light and dark fabrics. Its simple grid suits scrap quilts and makes a useful starting point for learning accurate patchwork.

Notes
Join the squares into rows, then sew the rows together. Press neighbouring row seams in opposite directions so they nest at the intersections; inconsistent seam allowances are the usual cause of mismatched corners or an uneven finished block.
