Sawtooth Star is a traditional angular star block, with sharp triangular points set against a square background. This version uses contrasting fabrics and suits quilts built from crisp, repeated star motifs.

Notes
Piece the half-square triangles accurately, press them consistently, then arrange them with the squares before joining the block in rows. Take care with triangle orientation and seam allowances, as turned units distort the star and heavy trimming can blunt its points.
