How it's made
A snowy night forest of zigzag pines, from one easy block. Here's the whole quilt, start to finish.
Each tree is flying geese stacked point to base, so the edges zigzag like branches. Rows of them become a forest.
Navy squares on the top corners of a green rectangle make a goose. Make three emerald and two mint.
Sew the geese into two columns, points up, then add a little trunk row under each tree.
Navy around each tree gives the tall one room to breathe and lifts the short one off the top.
Join the two trees and sew a strip of snow along the bottom. That's one block.
Make twenty blocks and lay them out in five rows of four, so the snow lines up across the quilt.
Sew the rows, then add an emerald border cut one and a half inches and a navy one cut three and a half.
