About this quilt
Citron Column Tides is a 70 by 82 inch throw of Ocean Waves blocks. Each 12-inch block keeps a 6-inch Ledger Cream square in the middle, ringed by twelve half-square triangles that break inward. A 5 by 6 set sits without sashing, every block facing the same way so the sawteeth stack into five colour columns: Cobalt Ledger on the two outer stripes, Warm Paprika inside those, and Plum Ledger as a single spine. A 2-inch Citron Field inner border draws a chartreuse line around the field; a 3-inch paprika outer border picks up the warm red already in the stripes.
Cut 3-inch HSTs, sew four cream squares for the calm centre, then add the triangle ring with each hypotenuse pointing in. Join in columns and keep the 3-inch seams aligned so the stripes run true. It suits a confident piecer who wants a graphic sofa throw with colour that is loud but mapped.
