How it's made

Round ears, a cream snout and a little black nose, all from squares.

Under all that white fur, a polar bear's skin is black, and each hair is see-through.

Two tiny cream corners round the bottom of a black nose. Sew cream squares either side.

Add cream below the nose, then round all four corners with white.

Two black squares make the eyes, set wide in a white strip.

Sew white squares either side of the snout, then stack the white top, the eyes, the snout and the chin.

Blue corners round the face, smaller on top where the ears go, bigger at the chin.

Blue corners round the top of a white rectangle into a little ear. Make two.

Sew the ears between blue squares, blue strips beside the face, and blue top and bottom so neighbours never touch.

Nine polar bears and a navy border make a frosty wall hanging.
