Sage Ink Chevrons

Sage Ink Chevrons is a crib quilt of Half Rectangle Triangle blocks: twenty ten-inch units set four by five with no sashing. Finished size is 48 by 58 inches. Each block is one long diagonal seam, Sage Olive on one half and Chalk Linen on the other. Blocks turn ninety degrees from neighbour to neighbour, so sage locks into chevrons down the centre and chalk opens into diamonds between them. With no sashing, those joins are the design. Sew the bias seam once, press it into the sage so the chalk triangle lies flat, and square the block before it meets the next; watch the points where four units meet so the zigzag stays true. An Ochre Field inner border lights the field and a Deep Ink outer border holds it. It suits someone past their first nine-patch who is ready for a long diagonal at ten inches, and a crib or daybed that wants olive rather than a dark field. The file includes yardage for each of the four solids, a cutting chart that marks the mirrored pairs, the seam order and a layout diagram.
