About this pattern

This large bed quilt sets deep red, dark gold and pale orange against a light ground, with repeated star-like motifs and small diamond-centred squares arranged in an orderly all-over grid. Pieced border bands frame the design and echo its crisp, geometric rhythm. The finished quilt measures 112" × 124".

You will piece 4" and 2" blocks using triangles, diamonds, bridge units and Bow Tie Square Variation pieces, then assemble 216 pieced sashing and border units in six types. With 2,736 pieces to cut and many points to align across the 24 × 27 grid, it suits an experienced piecer who enjoys accurate, sustained construction and a traditional geometric layout.
