About this pattern
Honey Shoofly is a Shoofly throw in warm cream, faded apricot, honey, clay and walnut, set five by six of twelve-inch blocks with two-inch apricot sashing so each nine-patch sits in its own frame. Finished size is 81 by 95 inches. The Shoofly is a nine-patch with a honey centre square, cream filling the side squares, and honey half-square triangles in the four corners, which is why the block reads as a soft diamond on cream. Cut the corner triangles from paired squares first, sew them to the cream sides, then add the honey centre; press the triangle seams toward the honey so the cream stays flat. Apricot sashing keeps the rhythm of the blocks easy to follow. A clay inner border and a walnut outer border give the quilt a settled, collected edge. The pattern suits a beginner who is ready for half-square triangles and wants a warm, traditional top without fussy points. The download is a full pattern pack with yardage, a cutting chart, piecing order and the layout for this throw.
