About this pattern
Plum Hearth Cabin is a Christmas Log Cabin throw in candle cream, ribbon gold, berry red and plum velvet, set five blocks wide by six high, each twelve inches, with two-inch gold sashing and cream cornerstones between the cabins. Finished size is 81 by 95 inches. The block is a traditional Log Cabin: a berry hearth square with cream logs on the light diagonal and plum logs on the dark, so each cabin reads as a warm fire against a winter wall. Cut the logs as strips and sew them around the hearth in light-then-dark order, pressing toward the newest log so the cream stays flat and the hearth stays square. Gold sashing sits like wrapping ribbon between the cabins; a gold inner border and a plum outer border close the Christmas frame. The pattern suits a confident beginner who wants organised strip piecing for a holiday quilt rather than novelty prints, and who is happy matching strip widths as the logs grow. It belongs on a sofa through Advent or folded at the end of a guest bed for December. The download is a full pattern pack with yardage, a cutting chart, piecing order and the layout for this throw.
