About this pattern

Cobalt Citron Spin is a 77 by 91 inch throw of Pinwheels blocks, each a 12-inch square of sixteen half-square triangles. Cobalt Ledger and Warm Paprika spin against Ledger Cream in a 5 by 6 checkerboard, and every other block turns 90 degrees so the triangles keep changing direction without a new unit to learn. Citron Field sashing at 2 inches draws a bright chartreuse lattice through the grid. A 1.5-inch cream inner border and a 3-inch Plum Ledger outer frame hold the colour in.

The palette is loud on purpose and easy to place: cream for the ground, cobalt and paprika for the spinning blades, citron for the lattice, plum for the edge. Cut HSTs, sew each 4 by 4 Pinwheels, then join with the citron strips. Match the four-triangle points in every block and keep the sashing seams even so the lattice stays square. It suits a confident beginner who has sewn half-square triangles and wants a graphic sofa throw with organised contrast rather than guesswork.

The download includes yardage for all five solids, a cutting chart, piecing order for the Pinwheels and lattice, and the full layout so colour placement stays easy to follow.
