Quiltler Ambassador Programme
Ambassador Programme Terms
The agreement between you and Quiltler when you teach, recommend and mentor as an ambassador. We've written it to be read, not skimmed past: what you earn, how it's worked out, and exactly when privileges or payouts can be paused or ended.
Version 2026-10-16 · Last Updated: October 16, 2026
The short version
This summary is here to help. The numbered sections below are the agreement, and they control if anything here reads differently.
25% after fees, for the customer's lifetime
Your share is calculated after Stripe's and Apple's fees. The rate is locked onto each customer when they become yours and stays with them for as long as they keep their Quiltler account.
A welcome offer you share the cost of
You can give a new customer up to 25% off their first web payment. You and Quiltler each carry half of that discount. Renewals have no discount.
Paid monthly through Stripe
Earnings clear after a 30-day hold and are paid on the 1st of each month once you have at least $10 available. Smaller amounts roll forward.
Free Designer while you're an ambassador
Approved ambassadors in good standing get Quiltler Designer at no charge, for their own use.
Classes: you keep 90% after fees
Educators run their own classes and keep 90% of what students pay after card fees. Free classes cost you nothing.
Fair process before anything ends
Most problems get a written notice and 14 days to fix. Honest criticism of Quiltler is never a breach. Every decision can be appealed.
1. About these terms
These Ambassador Programme Terms ("Ambassador Terms") govern your participation in the Quiltler Ambassador Programme (the "Programme"), run by Quiltler ("we", "us"). They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which continue to apply to your use of Quiltler. If these Ambassador Terms and the Terms of Service disagree on a Programme matter, these Ambassador Terms control for that matter.
Before you can apply, and again after any material change, we ask you to tick a box confirming:
"I have read and understand the Quiltler Ambassador Terms (version 2026-10-16), including how earnings are calculated after fees and when ambassador privileges and payouts can be suspended or ended."
We keep a record of each acceptance: the version, the exact wording you agreed to, the time, and the device details your browser sent. You can see your own record on the Terms tab of your ambassador portal at any time.
2. Definitions
- Customer: a person whose Quiltler account is attributed to you under section 6.
- Attribution: the record that links a Customer to you. It is created once and is permanent for the life of that Customer's account, subject to sections 6.5 and 20.
- Locked rate: the commission rate copied onto a Customer's Attribution when it is created. It is the rate used for every payment that Customer ever makes.
- Welcome offer: the optional discount (0โ25%) on a Customer's first web payment that you choose when you create a code.
- List price (P): the price of the plan billed, before the Welcome offer and excluding sales tax or VAT. Any discount that isn't your Welcome offer reduces P.
- Fees (F): the payment fees Quiltler actually pays on a payment: Stripe's processing fee for web payments, and Apple's commission for App Store payments.
- Net receipts (N): what Quiltler actually receives from a payment, after the Welcome offer and Fees.
- Hold: the 30-day period after a ledger entry is earned before it can be paid out.
- Good standing: your status is active, you have accepted the current Ambassador Terms, and you are not under a suspension or an open curable notice.
- Mentor: an ambassador to whom we have given the mentor role, who trains and introduces new ambassadors.
- Trainee: an ambassador who applied through a Mentor's invite and whose Mentor we confirmed on approval.
- Educator: an ambassador who has accepted the class-host section (section 11) and connected payouts, and may list classes on Quiltler.
3. Eligibility and application
- You must be at least 18, and apply as yourself with one Quiltler account. One ambassador per person.
- To be paid you need a Stripe Connect payout account in a country Stripe supports for payouts. You can apply before connecting it, but nothing can be paid until it's connected.
- You apply on the public application page or through a Mentor's invite link. Every application, including those through a Mentor, is reviewed and approved or declined by Chris White, Quiltler's founder, at his discretion. We will tell you the outcome and, if we decline, we'll say why when we can.
- We admit ambassadors in cohorts. While the founding cohort is forming, the number of places is limited and applications may close when it is full.
- Required training modules unlock as soon as you apply. Some may need to be completed before approval.
4. Roles
- Ambassador: every approved member. You share links and codes, help quilters get started, and earn on the Customers you introduce.
- Educator: optional. You opt in yourself by accepting section 11 and connecting payouts. We can remove the Educator role if section 18 applies to your classes.
- Mentor: by invitation only. We switch the Mentor role on and off. A Mentor can train up to 10 Trainees at a time.
- Every Trainee has exactly one direct Mentor, set at application and confirmed by us on approval. Mentor relationships do not cascade: a Mentor's own Mentor earns nothing from the Trainee.
5. Your free access
While you are an approved ambassador in good standing, you get Quiltler Designer at no charge. It is for your own design and teaching work and can't be transferred or shared. The Visualizer add-on is not included.
- If you already pay for Quiltler, we'll apply your free access on approval and set any web subscription to end at the close of its current period. App Store subscriptions have to be cancelled by you in your device's Settings; we'll prompt you to do that.
- If your account shows no Quiltler activity for 365 days, free access lapses. We'll warn you 30 days beforehand and restore it if you ask.
- Free access continues during a suspension, ends at the end of the calendar month if you leave, and ends straight away if you are disabled (section 20).
6. Links, codes and attribution
6.1 Your links and codes
You can have up to 10 active codes, each with its own label, link, optional expiry and Welcome offer. A visit through your link is remembered on that browser for 90 days.
6.2 Who can become your Customer
A person becomes your Customer the first time all of these are true:
- they sign up after visiting your link, enter your code at web checkout or in the iOS app, or book one of your classes;
- their account has never had a paid Quiltler subscription;
- they are not already attributed to another ambassador; and
- they are not you, and not an account you control.
6.3 The first valid attribution wins
Attribution happens once. A later link, code or class from another ambassador does not move a Customer, and neither you nor the Customer can change it.
6.4 Self-referral and checks
You can't attribute yourself, or accounts you create, control or pay for. If a payment card on a Customer's account matches one of yours, we hold the earnings from that Customer for review rather than reject them automatically, and we'll ask you about it.
6.5 Corrections
Only we can reassign an Attribution, and only to correct a genuine error or a breach. Every reassignment has a written reason and is kept in an audit log.
7. Earnings, explained
In plain words: your share is calculated after Stripe's and Apple's fees. You earn your locked rate on what each payment is worth once the payment processor or app store has taken its cut, less half of any Welcome offer.
7.1 The formula
For each payment a Customer makes, with r their locked rate:
Net receipts N = P โ D โ F
Your share A = r ร (P โ F) โ D รท 2
Mentor reward (if any) M = 1% ร N
Quiltler keeps Q = N โ A โ M
D is the Welcome offer actually applied. It is only ever on the first web payment, so on every renewal D = 0 and your share is simply r ร (P โ F). Your share never goes below zero. A Mentor reward comes out of Quiltler's share, never out of yours.
7.2 Where F comes from
- Web payments: the processing fee Stripe actually charged on that payment, read from Stripe's records.
- App Store payments: P multiplied by Apple's commission rate in effect on the payment date. Quiltler is in Apple's Small Business Program, so this is 15% today. If Apple's rate for us changes, the new rate applies from its effective date and we'll tell you.
- Fees are recorded once on each payment and never deducted twice. Taxes are excluded throughout.
7.3 Worked examples
| Payment | P | D | F | You earn |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First web payment, $100 plan, 10% welcome offer | $100.00 | $10.00 | $2.91 | $19.27 |
| Each web renewal of that plan | $100.00 | $0 | $3.20 | $24.20 |
| First payment, $100 plan, 25% welcome offer, no fee | $100.00 | $25.00 | $0 | $12.50 |
| App Store payment, $100 plan (15% commission) | $100.00 | $0 | $15.00 | $21.25 |
In the third example the Customer pays $75. Quiltler receives $75.00, you earn $12.50, a Mentor (if your Customer qualifies) earns $0.75, and Quiltler keeps $61.75. At a locked 20% rate you would earn $7.50; at 30%, $17.50.
7.4 Currency and rounding
Earnings are recorded and paid in US dollars. App Store payments in another currency use the plan's US dollar list price. Each amount is rounded down to the cent; Quiltler absorbs every sub-cent remainder.
7.5 For the lifetime of the Customer
You earn on every qualifying payment the Customer makes for as long as they keep their Quiltler account: renewals, upgrades and downgrades, switching between the App Store and the web, new subscriptions after cancelling, and coming back years later. The split stops only if your ambassador account is disabled (section 20), or the Customer's account is deleted.
Each ledger entry stores the numbers it was calculated from, so you can check any line on your Earnings tab against this formula.
8. Rates and promotions
- The standard rate is 25%. From time to time we may run promotions with a higher rate for a set window, for everyone or for named ambassadors.
- A Customer's rate is locked at the moment they become your Customer. A Customer who joins during a 30% promotion stays at 30% for good; a later change to the standard rate only affects people who join after it.
- We will give at least 30 days' notice before any reduction in the rate that new Customers attract. Increases can take effect straight away.
- We may agree a personal rate with you for future Customers. It is shown in your portal.
9. The welcome offer
- You choose a Welcome offer from 0% to 25% for each code. Its cost is split equally: half comes out of your share, half out of Quiltler's (that is the โ D รท 2 in section 7.1).
- So your share of a first payment never goes negative, the portal caps the Welcome offer you can set at your current rate, allowing for typical fees.
- It applies once per Customer, on their first web payment, and replaces any free trial on that checkout.
- It never stacks. If the Customer uses another promotion code, the Attribution stays yours but no Welcome offer is applied.
- It is web-only. Customers who subscribe through the App Store are still attributed to you and earn you your locked rate, with D = 0.
- The Welcome offer a Customer was shown is copied onto their Attribution and doesn't expire before their first payment, even if you later change or retire the code.
10. Mentor rewards
- A Mentor earns 1% of Net receipts (M in section 7.1) on payments by their Trainee's own direct Customers. It comes from Quiltler's share and reduces nothing the Trainee earns.
- It applies only to Customers who became the Trainee's after the Trainee was approved and had completed training. That eligibility is copied onto each Customer's Attribution at that moment.
- Nothing is paid for recruiting alone, and rewards don't cascade beyond one level.
- A Mentor reward lasts for the Customer's lifetime, and stops if either the Mentor or the Trainee is disabled.
- Inactivity. While you hold the Mentor role, if over the past 180 days you have logged no training session, held no class, written no community post and introduced no new paying Customer, your Mentor rewards pause and don't accrue, and you can't take new Trainees. We'll warn you 30 days before. Rewards resume from your next qualifying activity.
- A Mentor can have at most 10 Trainees.
11. Classes (the class-host section)
This section applies once you opt in as an Educator by ticking: "I have read and agree to the class-host section of the Quiltler Ambassador Terms (version 2026-10-16), including that I am the provider of my classes and responsible for delivering them, refunds under my cancellation policy, and the safety of my venue."
11.1 You are the provider
You run your classes as an independent provider. Quiltler provides the listing, booking, payment and roster tools. Your contract to teach is with your students; our Terms of Service, section 5B, tells students the same thing.
11.2 Money
- You set the price, in US, Canadian or Australian dollars or pounds sterling, or make a class free.
- For a paid booking, the card fee and any currency conversion come off first. Of what remains, you keep 90% and Quiltler keeps 10%. A free class costs you nothing.
- Example: a $60.00 booking with a $2.04 card fee leaves $57.96. You earn $52.16 and Quiltler keeps $5.80.
- A class earning becomes payable 7 days after the class's last session, then follows the normal hold and monthly payout in section 12.
11.3 Cancellation and refunds
Each class has one of three cancellation policies, chosen by you and shown to students before they book:
- Flexible: full refund until 24 hours before the class.
- Moderate: full refund until 7 days before; half until 48 hours before.
- Strict: half refund until 14 days before; no refund after that.
If you cancel a class, every student is refunded in full automatically. Where a card fee can't be recovered on a refund, it's shared 90/10, the same as the split.
11.4 Delivering what you list
- Your listing must be accurate: what students will learn, the level, the sessions, the venue or link, the materials, and anything a student must bring or pay for separately.
- If you change a published class, booked students are told. If you change its dates, times, venue or format, any of them can cancel for a full refund, whatever the class's policy.
- You must deliver the class as listed. Taking class fees without delivering is a serious breach (section 18).
11.5 Safety, venues and insurance
You are responsible for the safety of your venue, your equipment and your teaching, and for any permissions, licences and insurance your class needs. We strongly recommend public liability insurance for in-person classes.
11.6 Students and their data
Students need a free Quiltler account to book. When they book, they agree to share their name and email with you so you can run the class. Use the roster only for that class: no adding students to a mailing list, and no sharing it. Messages to your class go through Quiltler.
11.7 Class pass
You may include a class pass: free Quilter access for the student from booking until 14 days after the last session. It is only for students who have never paid for Quiltler, at most one pass per student in any 12 months, and it never shortens access a student already has.
11.8 Your content
You own your class materials. You grant us the licence in section 16 to show your listing.
12. Payouts
- Payouts go to your Stripe Connect account, in US dollars, on the 1st of each month (UTC).
- Each ledger entry is held for 30 days after it is earned so refunds and chargebacks can settle. After that it is available.
- If your available balance is at least $10, we pay all of it. If it's less, it rolls forward to the next month. Nothing is lost by rolling forward.
- If reversals take your balance below zero, the negative balance carries forward and is recovered from future earnings. We will not ask you to repay it except under section 20 for fraud.
- We may pause all payouts for a short time to fix a technical or payments problem. We'll tell you, and pay as soon as it's fixed.
- You're responsible for your taxes. Stripe may collect tax information and issue tax forms, such as a 1099 in the US.
- If we pay you too much or too little by mistake, we'll correct it with a ledger adjustment, explain why, and show it on your statement.
- Each month you get a statement by email and in your portal.
13. Refunds, chargebacks and reversals
- If a payment is refunded or charged back, your share is reversed in proportion: your original share ร the amount refunded รท what the Customer paid. A partial refund reverses part of your share; a full refund reverses all of it.
- The same applies to Mentor rewards and class earnings.
- Reversals can never add up to more than what you earned on that payment.
- Chargeback fees, dispute fees and card fees Stripe doesn't return are Quiltler's cost and are not passed on to you.
- Every entry and reversal is kept in an append-only ledger. Nothing is edited out; corrections are new, visible entries.
14. Honest promotion
We want people to choose Quiltler because you showed them what it can do. So:
- Disclose. Say clearly, wherever you promote Quiltler, that you're a Quiltler ambassador and earn when people subscribe. This is the law in many places: the FTC's rules in the US, the CMA and ASA in the UK, the Competition Bureau in Canada and the ACCC in Australia.
- Be accurate. Describe features, prices and offers truthfully, and don't promise what Quiltler doesn't do.
- No spam. Don't send unsolicited messages, post your code in groups that don't allow it, or buy contact lists.
- No brand bidding. Don't bid on "Quiltler" or close variations in search ads.
- No coupon or deal sites. Don't publish your codes on coupon, voucher or cashback sites.
- No fake or paid-for sign-ups. Don't create accounts, or pay or reward people, to sign up or subscribe.
- Don't impersonate Quiltler. You speak as an ambassador, not as Quiltler staff.
15. Community guidelines
The ambassador community is a private space for ambassadors and Chris. In it:
- Be respectful and generous. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- No harassment, hate, threats or sexual content.
- Don't poach another ambassador's students or Customers.
- Keep it private. Roadmap details, unreleased features and other members' posts are confidential; don't share them outside the community.
Moderators may hide or delete posts, lock threads, and mute a member for a set time. Every moderation action is logged.
16. Brand and content licence
- While you're an ambassador, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Quiltler name, logo and the materials in your resource library to promote Quiltler, following our brand guidance.
- You keep ownership of what you create. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to show your public profile, class listings and the content you choose to publish through Quiltler, for as long as they're published and for a reasonable time after to wind them down.
- If we'd like to feature your work beyond that, for example in marketing, we'll ask first.
17. Privacy and data
- Customers are shown to you pseudonymously, by a reference code, never by name or email. You see their plan, status and what you've earned, not who they are.
- Mentors see their Trainees' Customers the same way.
- Class rosters show names and emails only to run that class (section 11.6).
- Don't try to identify Customers from your analytics.
- We process your data as set out in our Privacy Policy, including section 2.4 on the Programme.
18. What counts as a breach
We sort breaches into two kinds, so the response fits what happened.
18.1 Serious breaches
These may lead to immediate suspension while we look into them, and can lead to your account being disabled:
- fraud or self-referral, creating fake accounts, or chargeback abuse;
- taking class fees without delivering the class;
- harassment, hate or threats; endangering students;
- illegal activity, or misusing personal data;
- deliberate harm to Quiltler: knowingly making false statements of fact about Quiltler, attacking or abusing our systems, leaking confidential information, or impersonating staff.
18.2 Curable breaches
For these you get a written notice and 14 days to put it right before anything else happens:
- missing ambassador disclosure;
- off-brand or misleading claims;
- codes posted on coupon or deal sites;
- bidding on Quiltler's name in search ads;
- inaccurate class listings;
- minor breaches of the community guidelines.
Repeating a curable breach you've already been notified about may be treated as serious.
18.3 What is never a breach
- honest criticism or a negative review of Quiltler, in public or in private;
- product feedback, however blunt;
- using or recommending other tools, including competitors;
- being quiet. There's no minimum activity to keep your commissions.
19. Process, suspension and appeals
- Notice. We tell you in writing what we think happened, which part of these terms it concerns, and what you can do.
- Cure. For a curable breach, you have 14 days to fix it. If you do, that's the end of it.
- Suspension while we investigate. For a serious breach, or a curable one left unfixed, we may suspend you for up to 30 days. While suspended your codes stop taking new Customers, but your existing Customers keep earning for you and your free access continues. Earnings accrue and are held; they are not paid until the suspension ends.
- Decision. We give you a written decision with our reasons: reinstatement, a further notice, or disabling.
19.1 Appeals
You can appeal any suspension or disabling decision to Chris White within 30 days by replying to the decision email or writing to chris@quiltler.com. Tell us what you think we got wrong and include anything that helps. Chris will review it personally and reply in writing.
19.2 Reinstatement
If you're reinstated, your status returns to active, your codes and free access are restored, and held earnings are released into the normal payout cycle. Customers attributed to you stay yours.
20. Leaving or removal
20.1 If you leave
You can leave at any time from your portal. When you do:
- your codes stop taking new Customers;
- your free access ends at the end of the calendar month;
- your existing Customers keep earning for you, at their locked rates, for their lifetimes, and payouts continue under section 12;
- any classes still scheduled are cancelled and their students refunded in full, so please deliver or cancel booked classes before you go;
- your Mentor and Educator roles end. Mentor rewards on Customers your Trainees had already brought continue, like your own earnings, for those Customers' lifetimes.
20.2 If you're disabled for cause
Only after the process in section 19, for a breach under section 18:
- your free access ends immediately and your codes are disabled;
- all future splits stop: you no longer earn on any Customer, and Mentor rewards linked to you stop;
- earnings still in their hold period, and earnings held for review, are forfeited;
- earnings that had already cleared their hold are paid to you in the next monthly run;
- where the breach was fraud, we may also offset our losses from it against what we'd otherwise pay;
- your public profile is hidden, and any scheduled classes are cancelled with full refunds to students.
20.3 If we close the Programme
We'll give at least 60 days' notice. We'll continue to honour commissions on Customers already attributed to you, at their locked rates.
21. Changes to these terms
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of a material change, by email and in your portal, with a summary of what's changing.
- Each version has a version number. You'll be asked to accept a new version before it applies to you.
- Changes never alter the locked rate of Customers already attributed to you.
- If you don't want to accept a change, you can leave under section 20.1 and keep your existing Customers.
22. Our relationship
You're an independent contractor, not an employee, agent or partner of Quiltler. The Programme is non-exclusive: you're free to work with other companies, and we work with other ambassadors. You pay your own expenses unless we agree in writing to cover something.
23. Liability and indemnity
- The limits of liability in our Terms of Service apply to the Programme. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
- You're responsible for your own promotion, your classes and your venues. You agree to cover our reasonable losses from claims by third parties that arise from your breach of these terms, your classes, or your venue, except to the extent we caused them.
- Insurance for in-person teaching is strongly recommended.
24. Governing law and disputes
Governing law and how disputes are resolved are as set out in section 14 of our Terms of Service. Before any formal step, we'd ask you to write to us, and we'll try in good faith to put things right.
