About this pattern
Twenty Friendship Star blocks make Lullaby Friendship Stars, finishing at 37½ by 45 inches. Each star is a nine-patch: a pastel square in the middle, four half-square triangles pointing in from the sides, and four Picture Book Cream squares holding the corners. The stars stand in four upright columns of five — Sherbet Peach, then Lemon Sherbet, then Toy-Box Mint, then Soft Lilac — so each colour keeps its own lane from top to bottom.
One-and-a-half-inch Picture Book Cream sashing runs between the blocks, joining the cream corners into a quiet field the stars sit on. A strip of Soft Charcoal Line, one and a half inches wide, separates the stars from the peach border. Three inches of Sherbet Peach wrap the outside, matching the leftmost column.
For every star, cut four cream squares, one pastel square, and four matching half-square triangles. Sew the nine-patch so the pastel triangles meet the centre square and point the same way around it. Join each colour as a column, add sashing, then the charcoal and peach. Watch the triangle bias so the star points stay sharp.
Sew it for a crib, a Moses basket, or a small gift that still reads clearly from the doorway. You get fabric amounts, a cutting list, the order of sewing, and a diagram of the finished top.
