Sherbet Bow Ties

Sherbet Bow Ties is a 78 by 92 inch throw pieced from the traditional Bow Tie block, set as twelve-inch squares in a five-by-six grid. Each Bow Tie is two cream triangles and a pastel knot-and-wings unit. Picture Book Cream holds the corners so the ties sit clearly on the field, while Sherbet Peach, Toy-Box Mint and Soft Lilac step across the layout in a three-colour repeat. Every other block turns ninety degrees, so the ties tilt and the cream gaps read like spaces between toys on a shelf.

Two-inch cream sashing keeps those repeats breathing. A one-and-a-half-inch Soft Charcoal Line frames the patchwork the way a drawn outline frames a picture-book page, and a three-and-a-half-inch Soft Lilac border finishes the edge in the same lilac as every third tie. Piecing is squares and half-square triangles for each Bow Tie, then sash, join rows, and add the two borders. Match the diagonal of the tie so the cream corners stay opposite.
