Indigo Trip

Indigo Trip is a Trip Around the World throw in pale ground, indigo and ink navy, set five by six of twelve-inch blocks with no sashing so the rings sit edge to edge. Finished size is 73 by 85 inches. Each block is a twenty-five patch Trip Around the World: an ink-navy centre square, an indigo middle ring, and pale ground filling the outer ring. Cut the three values into squares of one size and sew them in rows, lightest on the outside, so the block reads as nested squares from across a room. Press toward the darker fabric so the pale ground stays flat. Because there is no sashing, the pale outer rings of neighbouring blocks meet and the indigo rings sit in a measured grid. A mist-blue inner border and an ink-navy outer border close the field. The pattern suits a beginner who likes square piecing and a narrow, heritage colour plan.
