About this pattern

Violet Coral Chevrons is a 56 by 72 inch lap built from forty-eight 8-inch Chevron blocks, butted with no sashing so the triangles run as continuous bands. Even rows point up in Signal Violet on Parade Cream; odd rows flip 180 degrees in Coral Flare on the same cream, stacking cream diamonds down the quilt while the coloured corners zip into a two-tone zigzag.

A 1½-inch Parade Teal inner border sits between that field and a 2½-inch Parade Plum frame. Teal is the only cool mid-tone on the piece; plum is the darkest, so the chevrons stay loud against the edge.

Each Chevron is four half-square triangles — two cream, two colour. Join them into pairs, then join the pairs on the centre seam, and press the dark triangle over so the cream stays high. Nest those cream bases where the coral rows meet the violet ones. Swap violet for teal if you want a cooler march.

Made for confident HST piecing, it lives on a chair back or a daybed that can take a graphic jolt. Your file includes fabric yardage, the cutting chart, a piecing sequence and the 6 × 8 setting.
