About this pattern

Moss Flock is a Flock of Geese throw in candlewax cream, moss shadow, lichen and aubergine, set five by six of twelve-inch blocks with no sashing, so the triangle rows meet at the block edges. Finished size is 73 by 85 inches. Flock of Geese is a traditional unit of stacked flying geese: moss triangles on candlewax, pointing the same way so the quilt reads as a Halloween night flock crossing a pale field. Cut the geese from paired squares, sew a cream triangle to each side of every goose, and press toward the moss so the candlewax stays flat. Join the geese into rows, then join the rows, watching the points at the block joins so the flock stays in one direction. A lichen inner border and an aubergine outer border close the night around the flight. The pattern suits a piecer who is comfortable with flying-geese units and wants a graphic seasonal top without extra frames between the blocks. It would live on a sofa through October or hung on a hall peg after a dusk walk. The download is a full pattern pack with yardage, a cutting chart, piecing order and the layout for this throw.
