Plaster Frame Lattice

Plaster Frame Lattice sets forty-two twelve-inch Churn Dash blocks in six columns and seven rows. The pieced field is 72 by 84 inches; a two-inch Sun Clay inner border and a six-inch Pale Adobe outer border finish the queen at 88" × 100".

Pale Adobe is the ground in every block: the centre square, the inner half of each corner triangle, and the inner rectangle on each side. The dash — outer triangles and outer rectangles — steps on the bias. Terracotta Mesa occupies the upper left, Sun Clay and Cactus Sage hold the two long middle bands, and Mineral Blue closes the lower right. Blocks meet edge to edge, so the Pale Adobe joins as one plane and the darker pieces lock into a lattice of frames.

Make the half-square triangles first, pairing Pale Adobe with that band's dash colour. Join the rectangle pairs, set the centre, and press toward the dash. Keep each band's colour true when the rows go together.

Twelve-inch units and long border strips; this is measured piecing for a queen bed or the long wall of a sitting room. Buyers receive yardage, a cutting chart for the triangles, rectangles and borders, the Churn Dash order of construction, and the bias setting plan.
