About this pattern

A king quilt of Double Four Patch blocks, ten across and ten down, butted together so the four-patches join and a buttercream chain runs diagonally through the field. Finished size is 111 inches square.

Each ten-inch block is sixteen squares. Buttercream and berry make four-patches in two opposite corners; the remaining squares stay berry. Alternate blocks use deep berry and faded berry for those darks, a small shift from one unit to the next. Quiet moss makes a two-inch inner band. Worn walnut makes a three-and-a-half-inch outer one.

Sew the four-patches first, then join them to the solid berry pairs, keeping those four-patches in the same two corners of every block so the chain holds. All the seams are straight grain.

Leave it on a king bed that already has walnut furniture around it; it suits a quilter willing to sew a hundred ten-inch units from squares. Buyers get fabric amounts, the cuts for the Double Four Patch and both borders, the sewing order, and a diagram of the ten-by-ten setting.
