About this pattern

Halloween Pumpkin Bricks is a Halloween throw of Brick blocks, also called running bond, in clementine, plum velvet and candle cream, with ribbon gold only at the sashing crossings. Five twelve-inch blocks sit across and six down, with two-inch cream sashing, a two-inch clementine inner border and a three-and-a-half-inch plum outer border. Finished size is 79 by 93 inches.

Each Brick is three rectangles: a long clementine piece across the top, then a plum rectangle and a clementine rectangle sharing the lower half, so the dark patch steps like a pumpkin brick on a night wall. Cut the three rectangles, join the two lower ones first, then sew that pair to the long brick, pressing toward the plum so the seam nests when you set the blocks in rows.

Cream sashing keeps the bricks apart like candlelight on a Halloween street, and the gold squares sit only where the sashings cross. The plum border is the night around the pumpkin field.

This suits a confident beginner who wants organised rectangle piecing for Halloween without novelty prints. It belongs on a sofa through October or by the door on trick-or-treat night. The download includes yardage, a cutting chart, the Brick piecing order and the layout for this throw.
