About this pattern
Blossom Path Lakes puts the Lady of the Lake block on a crib top: twelve ten-inch units in three columns and four rows, separated by inch-and-a-half chartreuse sashing with blossom-clay cornerstones where the strips cross. Once the borders are on, the quilt measures 42 inches wide and 53.5 inches long. Cream is the lake in every unit. The shore is woodland on six blocks and blossom clay on the other six, placed on the checkerboard so hedge and terracotta sit apart among the lime paths. The traditional unit is a large half-square triangle with a sawtooth of smaller half-square triangles along the diagonal; piece the small HSTs into that sawtooth first, then join it to the large cream triangle, stitching the long diagonal without stretching the bias edge. Press the seam toward the coloured shore so the points stay crisp. A two-inch leaf-green inner border and a two-and-a-half-inch woodland outer border close the crib. This is work for a confident piecer who likes traditional half-square triangles and a compact project. What you download has the yardage, the cutting chart, the order for assembling each Lady of the Lake, and the crib layout.
