About this pattern
Bear Paws in the Hedge sets the traditional Bear Paw as a queen: forty-two twelve-inch units, six across and seven down, with inch-and-a-half cream strips between the blocks. Once bordered, it measures 91.5 inches across and 105 inches long. Cream fills the ground of every unit and those strips. Leaf-green pads with blossom-clay claws alternate with woodland pads and chartreuse claws, so dark and mid-green never share an edge. Each Bear Paw is four identical quadrants. For a quadrant, sew two pairs of half-square triangles as the claws, join them to one large pad square, and fill the leftover corners with cream; then join the four quadrants around the cream cross of the palm. Match the centre; press claw seams toward the pad. Woodland in a two-inch inner frame and chartreuse in a four-inch outer frame close the bed. Suited to a confident piecer who will chain-piece small triangles and keep four paws true. It belongs on a queen bed that can take a strong green frame. The download has yardage, a cutting chart, Bear Paw assembly order, and this queen layout.
