About this pattern
Indigo Doubles is a Double Four Patch throw, four blocks wide by five high, each unit twelve inches. Two-inch mist-blue sashing with indigo cornerstones separates the blocks. A two-inch loom-blue inner border and a three-and-a-half-inch ink-navy outer border bring the finished quilt to 65 × 79 inches.
Each block is two six-inch four-patches and two six-inch ink-navy squares, set so the four-patches occupy one diagonal and the solids the other. Cut pale ground and ink navy into three-inch finished squares, sew them as checkerboard four-patches, then join those to the two navy squares. Keep ink navy as the dark value in both the small squares and the large ones so the pale checks sit on a continuous dark field. Press four-patch seams toward navy and block seams toward the solid squares.
Mist blue holds a mid-value between the navy field and the pale checks; indigo cornerstones sit at every sashing crossing. Square each four-patch before it meets a larger navy square. The make suits anyone comfortable with a four-patch who wants a throw with sashing for a sofa or the foot of a bed. The download covers yardage for the five solids, a cutting chart for the squares, units and sashing, the Double Four Patch piecing order, and the four-by-five layout.
