About this pattern
A 56" × 64" lap quilt of Corn and Beans blocks, six across and seven down, each block finished at 8 inches. The even blocks take Maple Feature for the gold triangles and Maple Scatter for the cream rings; the odd blocks swap the gold for Olive Oak. Every other block is rotated 90 degrees so the rings lock into a lattice rather than a stack of identical diamonds.
Corn and Beans is all triangles: pairs of half-square triangles make the ring, and a square of the darker print sits in the middle. The cream leaf print is the only light value, so keep those HSTs accurate or the ring will wobble. No sashing; the blocks butt so the cream paths run through.
A 1.5" Pumpkin Blender inner border and a 2.5" Night Speckle outer border finish it. Olive and gold sit far enough apart in value that the checkerboard reads from the other side of a room, and the leaf print on the cream is there if you look. Meant for a lap on the sofa.
