Show inches, centimeters or both

Choose how lengths and fabric are written across the studio: inches and yards, centimeters and meters, or both side by side. Your quilts stay the same; only how they’re measured on screen changes.

Where to find it

in · yd, cm · m or Both on any pattern or fabric calculator; or your account → Preferences → Measurements

Open your preferences
A quilt's Fabric Calculator in inches and yards; pressing cm · m turns the size and every fabric's yardage into centimeters and meters, then Both keeps centimeters and meters in front and adds inches and yards in brackets

How to do it

  1. On a pattern or in the Fabric Calculator, press in · yd, cm · m or Both at the top. Every length on the page changes.
  2. Or press your name in the top bar to open your account, go to Preferences, and choose under Measurements: imperial, metric, or both with either one first.
  3. With both, patterns and fabric lists show the second system in brackets, like 6½″ (16.5 cm). The design wall and its rulers stay in the first.

Good to know

  • The choice is saved on this device, so set it once on each computer or tablet you use.
  • Quilts are stored the same way either way, so switching never changes a quilt.
