Color & fabric

Add photos of your fabric to your stash

Photograph your fabric and add it in My Library → Fabrics → Add fabric: crop it, name it and say how wide the photo is, and it’s ready to design with, here and on iPhone and iPad.

Where to find it

My Library → Fabrics → Add fabric, or the + under Fabrics in the designer’s right panel.

Open your fabrics
In Add a fabric, the crop’s corner is pulled in on a photo of an orchard-fruit print and the square slid over; it is named Orchard fruit, Print width is set to 14 inches, and Add fabric puts Orchard fruit first in the stash, added just now

How to do it

  1. Go to My Library → Fabrics and press Add fabric.
  2. Press Choose photos, or drag photos in. You can add up to 24 at a time.
  3. Drag the crop square over the part of the photo that shows the print, clear of creases and edges.
  4. Give it a Name, and type in Print width (inches) how many inches of fabric the photo shows across, so the print is life-size on a quilt.
  5. Press Add fabric. It’s first in your stash, and in the designer’s Fabrics.

Good to know

  • Photograph fabric flat, in daylight, straight on. Straighten and the color sliders tidy up the rest.
  • In your stash keeps how much you have and where it’s kept, so you know what you own when you shop.
  • Free accounts keep 10 fabric photos. Solid colors are never counted.
Who can use it
