Change the wording in your pattern

The printable pattern's Wording tab lets you rewrite its headings, instructions and notes. Sizes, charts and templates still follow the quilt, and anything in curly braces stays up to date.

Where to find it

Designer → More → Printable pattern — cutting & sewing → Wording tab.

Open your quilts
On the printable pattern's Wording tab, the Shopping list heading is cleared and retyped as What to buy, and a Reset appears beside it

How to do it

  1. Open the quilt's Printable pattern page and choose the Wording tab.
  2. The text is grouped the way the pattern is: Shopping list, Cutting and so on. Find the line you want to change.
  3. Type your own words in its box. The preview rebuilds with them, and a Reset appears beside the field.
  4. Keep anything in {curly braces} as it is: it fills in sizes and counts from the quilt.

Good to know

  • Reset beside a field puts that line back. Refresh pattern at the top puts all the wording back.
  • Change the quilt later and the pattern asks whether to refresh the wording or Keep my wording.
  • To change the sewing steps for a block, use Rewrite these steps on the Construction tab.
