Add borders to your quilt

Frame the quilt with as many borders as you like. Each has its own width and color, and can be one solid strip or a ring of squares you fill.

Where to find it

Designer → Borders (left panel) → Add

Open the designer
In the Borders section, Add frames the Irish Chain in Border 1, typing a color turns it navy, then Add puts Border 2 round it, made 5 inches wide and rust

How to do it

  1. Press Add in the Borders header in the left panel. Border 1 goes round the quilt.
  2. Type its Width, and a color code into Color, or press the swatch.
  3. Press Add again for each border you want. Each new one goes round the last.
  4. Set Fill to Squares for a ring of squares you fill on the quilt, sized to fit evenly all the way round.
  5. Press ✕ beside a border to remove it, or Hide in the header to hide them all without losing them.

Good to know

  • Finished with borders in Quilt settings shows the size with every border.
