Design on the quilt
Draw your own shape on the quilt
The Draw tool makes a piece of any outline: click its corners on the quilt and close the shape. It lands in the fabric loaded in Place.
How to do it
- Choose Draw in the tool dock, or press D.
- Click the quilt to drop the shape’s first corner. Corners snap onto the corners of nearby pieces.
- Keep clicking to add corners. Three make a shape.
- Close it: click the first corner again, double-click, press Enter, or press Close shape. The piece lands in the fabric loaded in Place.
- Changed your mind? Clear (or Esc) throws away the corners so far.
Good to know
- Pick the fabric first with Place → Fabric, then switch to Draw.
- Want a shape to reuse? Draw it in the Shape Designer instead, and it joins your shapes.
