Design on the quilt

Remove pieces from your quilt

The Erase tool takes a piece off with a tap, or a whole run of them with a drag. Selected pieces go with Delete, and Undo brings anything back.

Where to find it

Designer → tool dock → Erase, or press E.

Open the designer
In the designer, Erase is picked in the tool dock, two taps take two squares off the Plus Quilt, and a drag along a row takes off every square it passes

How to do it

  1. Choose Erase in the tool dock, or press E.
  2. Tap a piece to take it off the quilt.
  3. Drag across the quilt to take off every piece you pass over.
  4. Press Select (or V) when you’re done, so the next click doesn’t erase.

Good to know

  • Already selected the pieces? Press Delete on the bar under the design wall, or the Delete key.
  • Undo (⌘Z) brings back what you erased, one step at a time.
  • To keep the piece but take its color off, right-click it and choose Clear fabric.
