Paper piecing
Fix a patch that can't be paper pieced
When three or more seams meet with none carrying straight on, those patches can't be sewn in order. They turn red, and Draw the fix adds the straight seam that fixes it. Warnings also flags slivers, sharp points and tiny patches.
Where to find it
Paper piecing panel → the bar under the tools, and Warnings in the left panel
Open paper piecingHow to do it
- When patches can't be paper pieced, they turn red and the bar under the tools says why, with a Draw the fix button when there's a straight seam that would fix it.
- Press Draw the fix to add that seam. The patches are numbered and sectioned again.
- No fix offered? Use Erase or Move so one seam runs right across the trouble spot.
- Open Warnings in the left panel for the rest: patches only a sliver across, points so sharp they'll be bulky, and very small patches.
Good to know
- Undo takes back the seam that caused it, if that's easier.
- The Sections list marks a section that cannot be sewn as one.
