Measure pieces with the ruler and size labels

Ruler puts rulers along the design wall, Guides runs lines from the pointer out to them, and Sizes labels the finished size of each selected piece.

Where to find it

Designer → View row at the bottom of the left panel → Ruler (U), Guides (G), Sizes (M)

Open the designer
Under the designer’s settings, Ruler draws inch rulers along the design wall and Guides runs lines from the pointer out to them; with a rust square of the Irish Chain selected, Sizes labels each of its edges 4 inches

How to do it

  1. Press Ruler in the View row at the bottom of the left panel, or press U. Rulers run along the top and side of the design wall.
  2. Press Guides, or G. Lines follow the pointer out to the rulers, so you can read where it is.
  3. Select a piece, then press Sizes, or M. Each edge shows its finished length, without seam allowance, and the selection box shows its outer width and height.

Good to know
