Calculators
Plan your quilt's size for a bed or a set of blocks
The Quilt size calculator answers three questions: how big a grid of blocks finishes, what size quilt covers a bed, and how many blocks fit a size you already have in mind.
Where to find it
Studio top bar → Calculators → Quilt size. Also at quiltler.com → Calculators, and in the Calculators tab of the iPhone and iPad app.
Open the quilt size calculatorHow to do it
- Press Calculators in the studio's top bar and choose Quilt size. It opens on 6″ blocks, 5 across and 6 down, with the answer already in the You need card.
- Choose what to Work out: Finished size from blocks, Quilt size for a bed or How many blocks fit.
- For a bed, pick the Mattress and type the Drop (inches) over the sides and any Pillow tuck (inches).
- For blocks, type the Finished block (inches), sashing and border, and either the columns and rows or the target size.
- Read the card: the quilt's size, or how many blocks across and down.
Good to know
- The drop is added on both sides and at the foot. A quilt that reaches the floor needs a bigger drop.
