Start a quilt
Plan a quilt from a jelly roll
The Jelly Roll Strips quilt starts from the roll you have instead of a bed size. Say how many rolls and strips, pick a layout the roll fills, and it counts the strips used and left over.
Where to find it
Design → Squares & strips → Jelly Roll Strips (last on the shelf)
Start a jelly roll quiltHow to do it
- Open Design, choose Squares & strips, then Jelly Roll Strips, last on the shelf.
- Under Your roll, choose Half roll, 1 roll, 2 rolls or 3 rolls. Under Strips in a roll, choose 40 or 42; count yours, as it varies by maker.
- Under Block, choose 5 strips or 4 strips to a block. Each 2½″ strip finishes at 2″ once sewn.
- Pick one of the Blocks across × down layouts the roll fills, and a Border of One strip or Two strips pieced from the leftovers. The bar under the preview counts the strips cut into blocks and the strips left.
- Press Start designing. The strip blocks open on the design wall.
Good to know
- Change the roll and the layout goes back to the best one that roll cuts.
- The strips are dealt out so the ones stacked in a block are always different prints.
