Preview how your quilt looks quilted

Preview quilting shows your design as a finished, quilted top: stitching in the design and thread you choose, and the puff of the batting between the lines. It’s a preview only.

Where to find it

Designer → Quilting (left panel) → Preview quilting

Open the designer
In the Quilting section, Preview quilting shows the Irish Chain quilted in a crosshatch with the batting puffed between the lines; Quilting design set to Clamshell and a navy Thread change the stitching

How to do it

  1. Open Quilting in the left panel and turn on Preview quilting.
  2. Pick a Quilting design: Straight, Diagonal, Crosshatch, Chevron, Waves, Clamshell or Stipple.
  3. Set the Spacing between lines, and the Angle for line designs. Spacing is measured for real, so you see the true density.
  4. Choose the Thread color and Thickness, then the Puff color and Puffiness of the batting.

Good to know

  • Any edit to the quilt turns the preview off. Turn it on again when you’re ready.
  • The stitching and puff are never saved, posted or printed.
