Design on the quilt

Move a piece or change its size

Drag a selected piece to move it, or drag its handles to make it bigger, smaller, longer or shorter. Keep proportions stops it stretching out of shape.

Where to find it

Select the piece → drag it or its handles, or bar under the design wall → More actions → Position & angle.

Open the designer
In the designer, a navy square on the Plus Quilt is selected and its corner handle dragged out until it covers four squares, its bottom handle is dragged back up to make a rectangle, and the rectangle is dragged up to a new spot

How to do it

  1. Select the piece.
  2. Drag it to move it. It snaps into place by the Snap setting; hold Alt (⌥) while dragging to drop it exactly where you let go.
  3. Drag a corner or side handle to change its size.
  4. For exact numbers, open More actions → Position & angle and type the piece’s X, Y, Width and Height. Typing exact sizes is part of a subscription, or comes with a quilt you’ve unlocked.
  5. Turn on Keep proportions (in More actions) so width and height change together.

Good to know

  • Arrow keys nudge a selection a quarter inch. Shift and the arrows move an inch; Alt and the arrows a twentieth.
  • Several pieces stacked in one space share one set of size fields, so you can resize them together.
Who can use it
