Design on the quilt
Choose where pieces snap
Snap under the design wall decides where a piece lands when you place or drop it: in a space, on its center, where grid lines cross, halfway along a line, against other pieces, along an outline, or exactly where you let go.
How to do it
- Press Snap in the tool dock. The menu plays a short preview of each mode as you point at it.
- Choose Space corner to fill a space, Space center to center a piece in it, or Where lines cross to center it on a crossing.
- Choose Halfway along a line for setting triangles, Against other pieces to butt up to what’s there, or Outline for shapes that fit together, like hexagons.
- Choose Off to place freely. Pieces you place or drag now land by the mode you chose.
Good to know
- Hold Alt (⌥) while dragging to drop a piece exactly where you let go, whatever Snap says.
- On a hexagon, triangle or tumbler grid the menu has just Space, Outline and Off.
