Design on the quilt
Mirror pieces as you place them
Mirror under the design wall places extra copies of each piece reflected or turned about the quilt’s center, so one click builds a symmetrical design: left to right, top to bottom, four ways, or turned.
How to do it
- Press Mirror in the tool dock and choose a mode. A preview at the top shows what it does.
- Left to right and Top to bottom reflect across the quilt’s middle; Four-way fills all four quarters.
- Turn 180° adds a copy turned half way round; Turn 90° adds copies all the way round, like a pinwheel.
- Choose Place, then click or drag on the quilt. Each piece lands with its mirrored copies.
- Set Mirror back to Single to place one piece at a time again.
Good to know
- Mirroring is about the whole quilt’s center. For a single block’s symmetry, use it in the block builder, where it mirrors about the block.
- To flip one piece you’ve already placed, select it and press H.
