Turn or flip a piece

Turn pieces a quarter turn at a time, flip them left to right or top to bottom, or set an exact angle. It works on the pieces you’ve selected, and on the next piece before you place it.

Where to find it

Select the pieces → bar under the design wall → Rotate 90°, or More actions for flips and Position & angle. Press R to turn and H to flip.

Open the designer
In the designer, a navy half-square triangle is selected and turned twice with Rotate 90°, flipped with More actions → Flip left / right, then shift-clicks add three more triangles and, with Each piece chosen, Rotate 90° turns all four on their own spots

How to do it

  1. Select the pieces you want to turn.
  2. Press Rotate 90° on the bar under the design wall, or press R. Each press is another quarter turn. Shift R turns in 45° steps.
  3. To flip, open More actions and choose Flip left / right (H) or Flip top / bottom (Shift H).
  4. For an exact angle, open More actions → Position & angle and type the angle, or drag the slider.
  5. With several pieces selected, choose Group to turn them together round their middle, or Each piece to turn each on its own spot.

Good to know

  • Placing pieces? The same Rotate 90° and Transform buttons sit on the Place bar and turn the next piece before you click.
  • Shape ↻ (C) turns the shape inside a piece, such as which corner a triangle points to, without turning the piece.
  • Right-click a piece for Rotate 90°, Flip horizontally and Flip vertically.
