Arrange the section charts for a quilt of squares

A quilt made of equal squares prints as lettered section charts. On the Sections tab you choose the section size, drag the lines between sections, rename them and pick each fabric's letter.

Where to find it

Designer → More → Printable pattern — cutting & sewing → Sections tab (on a quilt of equal squares).

Open your quilts
On the printable pattern's Sections tab for a Trip Around the World quilt of 255 squares, the lines on the section map are dragged outward a square each so the middle section holds the whole center; it is named Center, and the pattern preview scrolls to the lettered charts, where Center prints as its own chart

How to do it

  1. Open the Printable pattern page of a quilt made of equal squares and choose the Sections tab. It shows How the quilt is charted.
  2. Pick a Section size, or use Add a column and Add a row to divide it further.
  3. Drag a line on the section map to move it. Click a line and press Delete to take it out and join the sections either side.
  4. Click a section to give it a name of up to 8 characters, then press Save name.
  5. Under Fabric letters, choose the letter each fabric goes by. The fabric that had that letter swaps with it.

Good to know

  • Sections that come out the same are charted once.
  • Go back to Quiltler's sections undoes all of it.
