Change the background color of your quilt

Background sets the color behind the quilt, the one you see through any gaps between pieces.

Where to find it

Designer → Quilt settings → Background

Open the designer
In Quilt settings, typing a navy color into Background turns the gaps between a blank quilt’s marigold squares from white to navy, then a sage green

How to do it

  1. Open Quilt settings in the left panel and scroll down to Background.
  2. Press the swatch to pick a color, or type a color code like #2E3A55 into the box beside it and press Return.
  3. The color fills every gap between pieces at once. Undo puts the old one back.

Good to know

  • Try a dark background to judge light fabrics, and a light one for dark fabrics.
  • On iPhone and iPad, it’s Design Wall Color in Layout.
