Start a quilt

Choose what to design

Design in the top bar asks What would you like to design? and shows how a quilt comes together. Pick Add a fabric, Cut a shape, Piece a block or Design a quilt and that tool opens.

Where to find it

Top bar → Design

Choose what to design
The page Design opens, asking What would you like to design? A film runs across it: bolts of fabric roll out, a square is cut into triangles with a ruler and rotary blade, the triangles become a pinwheel block with fabric dropped behind them, and blocks fill a bound, quilted quilt, while Add a fabric, Cut a shape, Piece a block and Design a quilt light up underneath in turn

How to do it

  1. Press Design in the top bar.
  2. Watch the film across the top: fabric is cut into pieces, pieces become a block, and blocks make the quilt. Point at an option to play its part.
  3. Read the three steps under each option, then press the one you want.
  4. Add a fabric opens your fabrics, Cut a shape the Shape Designer, Piece a block the block builder and Design a quilt the quilt setup.
