Name the fabrics in your block

Each fabric in a block gets a slot. Name them in Fabric slots, like Background and Star points, and whoever drops the block into a quilt chooses a fabric for each name instead of “Fabric 3”.

Where to find it

Block builder → right panel → Fabric slots

Open your blocks
In the block builder's Fabric slots, Fabric 1, 2 and 3 are renamed Center, Background and Triangles, and pressing the Background swatch selects the block's twelve cream pieces

How to do it

  1. Open your block in the block builder and press Go to Fabric slots at the top of the right panel, the tag icon.
  2. Each fabric on the block has a slot, with how many pieces use it. Click a name, like Fabric 1, and type what it is: Background, Center, Star points.
  3. Press a slot's swatch to select every piece in that fabric.
  4. To make two slots one, choose Same slot as … under a slot. Then press Save.

Good to know

  • Slots appear on their own as you place pieces: one per fabric.
  • Undo brings back a slot you merged by mistake.
