Design on the quilt

Select every piece of one fabric or shape

The search at the top of the designer lists every fabric, color, shape, rotation and size on the quilt with how many pieces have it. Click one to select them all.

Where to find it

Designer → the search box at the top: Search fabric, shape, rotation, size or group, or press ⌘F.

Open the designer
In the designer, the search box at the top lists the colors on the Plus Quilt with a count for each; typing teal narrows it to Teal, 12, and clicking it selects all twelve teal squares before Done closes the list

How to do it

  1. Click the search box at the top of the designer, or press ⌘F. It lists what’s on the quilt, with a count for each.
  2. Type a color, fabric or shape name to narrow the list, such as “navy” or “triangle”.
  3. Click an entry to select every piece that has it. Shift-click another to add those too.
  4. With pieces already selected, Select all that match the current selection picks every piece like them. Turn Fabric/color, Rotation and Shape on or off to say what has to match.
  5. Press Done. Now recolor, turn or delete them all at once.

Good to know

  • Right-click a piece for Select same fabric, Select same shape, Select same rotation or Select same size.
  • To recolor every match in one go, you can also drag a color onto one piece with All matches on.
